From the judges: The concept of weaving a previous historical event (flood) into the messaging of resilience for the current time was a nice approach, helping to drive a message of resilience. This felt professional and inspiring, and we loved the sense of history with older footage mixed in. It gave a sense that the institution is strong and has been through tough times before. The mood is great, and the production is wonderful.

About this Entry: When the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic became clear in March 2020 and everything started transitioning to working from home, Portland State University decided that we needed to create a message for students, staff, and faculty that we were there for one another... and that we are no stranger to tough times and resiliency. The video is framed around an important part of PSU's early history; a flood that caused the institution to uproot and rebuild only 2 years after it was founded.
